 Emiratis can travel visa-free to Japan from November 1 People wait for arriving travellers at Haneda International Airport. Reuters Emiratis will enjoy visa-free travel to Japan from November 1 as part of a wider strategy to further bolster ties between the two countries. UAE citizens will be allowed to stay in Japan for up to 30 days in line with a strategic agreement signed in Tokyo last month by Dr Sultan Al Jaber , Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the UAE's special envoy to Japan , and Yoshimasa Hayashi, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs. Travellers must present a negative PCR test taken within 72 of departure, or vaccine certificate, with three vaccinations approved by Japan. Dr Al Jaber said the deal would encourage more tourism, cultural and academic exchanges between the countries and promote new opportunities for business, trade and investment.   UAE's EDB processed $13.6mln startup loans in one month via new scheme - CEO Emirates Development Bank (EDB) processed AED 50 million ($13.6 million) in loans through its digital banking app in one month after it launched a new scheme to approve loan applications for startups in five days.  The bank said at the end of August that it would expedite loans for start-ups in its five priority sectors – manufacturing, healthcare, food security, advanced technology and infrastructure – giving approval or feedback within five days, in a service in partnership with peer-to-peer lending platform Beehive.   CEO Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi said: “For fintech, on the financing piece, we just went live with that in the end of August, just over a month ago.  “We’ve already done over AED 50 million worth of loans through that system. Ameca has a human-like face and body and a sense of humour, manufacturer says Dubai's  Museum of the Future has recruited a new member of staff to help visitors with their queries — an AI-powered humanoid robot. Named Ameca, the robot has a human-like face and body and is capable of making facial expressions. Ameca will interact with visitors to the  Museum of the Future's  Tomorrow Today exhibition, greeting them, giving directions and answering questions. Ameca even has a sense of humour, according to its manufacturer, Engineered Arts, which describes it as the "world’s most advanced human-shaped robot". The Tomorrow Today exhibition highlights solutions and concepts that demonstrate the application of advanced technology in the fields of renewable energy and sustainability.   Dubai Police release their 'Ghiath' luxury smart patrols as NFTs The Dubai Police have announced the launch of their luxury smart patrols called ‘Ghiath’ as a non-fungible digital asset. The smart patrols feature a 360-degree camera, eight exterior surveillance cameras, and a facial and licence plate recognition system. With this, the Dubai Police have released their second collection of NFTs. About 150 people became proud owners of the police’s first NFT collection that featured free digital assets symbolising “values of innovation, security and communication”. The second collection was announced during Gitex Global that kicked off on Monday.
